Manufacturers Offer Free Samples Of Cosmetics

Does glamour play a large role in your life? If that’s so, you may have been feeling a pinch in the pocketbook during these tough economic times. It turns out that you don’t have to forgo your favorite brands if you’re willing to use some ingenuity in finding free samples.

 

Websites that survey and gather information on freebies are a great source of links to cosmetics manufacturers offering free samples. Lipstick samples, lotion samples and more can be found by checking out the offers on these sites.

 

If you’d rather go straight to the source, then search for the websites of big cosmetic companies. Whenever these companies bring out a new line of cosmetics, they usually have contests in which you can win samples of everything. You’ll have to fill in the online forms and submit them right away to be in the running for your choice of samples. You may also be offered a discount coupon to try the cosmetic at a drugstore or cosmetic counter. These free samples can vary tremendously, but you should be able to score something to your liking.

 

Lotion, lipstick and perfume samples are often available at local department stores that have cosmetic counters, and also from independent beauty consultants such as Avon and Mary Kay. Be alert for these samples when you’re browsing around the mall. The samples, such as Avon’s lipstick samples, may be very small, but they’re good for one or two applications. If you get a lotion or perfume sample in a foil packet, you can make the sample last longer by keeping it in a small sealable plastic bag.

 

Some cosmetics companies have offers where they’ll send you their latest free samples if you’ll pay the postage. Find the sites you like and then register with the program. The cosmetic company will automatically alert you to free samples and other freebies.

 

One thing to be aware of when requesting free samples is that there may be restrictions on the number of samples you can get or the frequency with which you can apply for them. Some manufacturers limit their samples to one per household per month, while some restrict their offers to one per household per quarter. Whatever the restrictions may be, you can still get plenty of cosmetics to try if you sign up for several sites. Be sure to respond with a brief online review if the company asks you for feedback about the sample it sends. That’s only fair, since they’re sending out the samples because they really want to get customers’ response to the products.

 

Also be aware that sometimes you can find freebies offered on non-freebie websites. Coupon sites in particular often have freebies pages or have advertising for free samples. Be careful when responding to advertisements, however. If at any point in your Internet travels you find yourself asked to pay for a free sample, or to “participate” in a promotion to get the freebie, don’t do it! Too many consumers have been badly scammed by such subterfuges. Be wise and recognize when freebies are not genuine freebies.
