In a new Toyota can turn off the engine and shift the car into neutral or park?
This relates to the issue of acceleration in some of the new Toyota. Cannot these people simply just change these cars in neutral or even slam it into the park to avoid hitting something? Or maybe turn off the engine? I can not imagine sitting in a car out of control and not trying to do something extreme to stop it. I heard someone say that due to modern design and computer controls these Toyota's new cars and other possible changes in the unit with the moving car to avoid damaging the transmission. Is this true? A tip for anyone who Toyota has a check if you can do this. You'll find a large empty parking lot. Drive a little and see if you can switch the car off the drive to standstill the car is moving. See if you can turn off the engine while the car moves, too. Practice this for their own safety, only if the cars throttle stick that you know what to do.
You can easily select neutral. In fact, you can select Park. Becoming a terrible noise and destroy you parking pawl, but you can do. You have to hold down the power button down for about 3 seconds to turn off the engine. (this is intentional for inadvertently can not turn off the engine if you accidentally hit while driving) With the brake fully depressed, should be able to slow the car for the 3 seconds you'll need to shut the car before it overheats.
