How can I prevent my foundation from sweating off?
I have tried every foundation in the book…. neutrogena mineral sheers, revlon colorstay, rimmel lasting color, mary kay day radiance, etc. and for the most part I love them all. However, I am a waitress at a hot mostly outdoors Miami restuarant so I am constantly sweating and wiping my face. What can I do to make my my makeup sweat proof that won’t cost a fortune? Thanks for any tips you can give
also, my face gets really red when I am sweating so I need good coverage. Most mineral foundations are too sheer for me.
I live in Miami too, and I eat lunch outside everyday for my internship so I know how the heat can be (thank God for the rain this past week).
But I understand the problem. When summer was first starting to hit, in May, my Bare Minerals started melting off the minute I stepped outside. My oil mattifier corrected that but I still look like an oil slick. I tried a new foundation and I am so happy because I do not have to blot my face anymore (though you may need to since you work as a waitress at a outdoor restaurant).
But what I use and/or recommend are:
1. An oil mattifier. I use Murad Oil Control Mattifier which costs $40 but you can probably find a cheaper one elsewhere. I heard (from reviews online) that Mary Kay sells a good mattifier for about $15.
2. Mattifying foundation. I use Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet. $34 at Sephora. It is a liquid foundation but mattifies the face and because of that it is resistant to heat, humidity, and sweating so you do not look shiny in the middle of the day. This one gives great coverage and I only need concealer on two dark spots.
3. An extra product to take away excess oil (whether it be blotting sheets, a mattifying gel that goes over makeup, or blot powder). I use MAC Blot Powder. The only thing is you have to apply it very lightly or else it can get cakey.
