Would you buy your son a baby doll if he wanted it?

My son is 2 and has recently asked for a baby doll. I am considering getting him a boy one (one dressed in blue). I played with hot wheels car as a kid and nobody cared I was a girl. Would you buy your son a baby doll? I think it would be a good thing considering he will hopefully one day give me grand babies.

I was a childcare worker for 10 years and the boys played in ‘home corner’ all the time.
Many dads get upset if their boys play with dolls BUT what they are forgetting is that their boys will one day become partners, husbands, father.
Roll playing with dolls helps develop skills such as caring, nurturing, empathy and so on.
I say go out and buy him a doll and it doesnt have to be a blue one. Lets face it, if he goes on to have a family he may have girls.

I just have to add that I think Weird Wendell’ s comments were just that – weird! I would guess you are either joking or stirring the pot because there is nothing linking ‘boys playing with dolls to being gay’. What a ridiculous comment to make.
